What state does this flag belong to?

The area became the 47^th state of the USA only in 1912. Even today the state is one of the least-populated ones though its landscapes are really impressive. For example, the national monument White Sands will appeal to you with its…white, even alabaster sands!

The state flag was introduced to the citizens in 1925. It is an interesting fact that the "red cross" presents a historical symbol of the Sun used by the Zia.

The Zia sun sign represents the 4 directions (North, East, South and West), the 4 seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall), the 4 periods of a day (morning, noon, evening and night), and the 4 periods of life (childhood, youth, middle years and old age). I learned that during one of my trips to Albuquerque for the Balloon Festival.

Lynne Zeman, the Zia and Zuni are two different tribes. Despite the fact that they are collectively called the Pueblos, there a number of different language and cultural groups who live in those pueblos: Zuni, Hopi (Uto-Aztecan), Keresan (the language group Zia Pueblo belongs to), Tanoan, and Athabaskan: Navajo and Apache tribes.
