Question is very deceptive. The single day battle record is Antietam at 3654 deaths. Meuse-Argonne was a 46 day long battle! 46 days of Antietam equals 149,814 deaths. Just a vent on my part.

The Battle of Gettysburg (July 1–3, 1863) is considered the deadliest battle in American history, with over 7,000 soldiers killed.
Overview of Gettysburg
The Battle of Gettysburg was a pivotal engagement during the American Civil War, fought over three days in southeastern Pennsylvania. It resulted in 7,863 American deaths, including 3,155 Union soldiers and 4,708 Confederate soldiers. The battle is often cited as the turning point of the Civil War, halting the Confederate advance into the North and inflicting massive casualties on both sides, which contributed to the overall staggering death toll of the war (over 1,000,000 combined for both sides)

Factors Contributing to High Casualties
The extreme death toll at Gettysburg and other Civil War battles was due to a combination of linear infantry tactics, muskets and artillery, and close-range engagements. In contrast, 20th-century battles like Okinawa involved modern weaponry, prolonged campaigns, and high-intensity combat, which also led to significant fatalities.
Significance
Gettysburg remains a symbol of the human cost of war in American history. Its scale of casualties, combined with its strategic importance, makes it the deadliest battle fought on American soil. While other battles, particularly in World War II, caused more deaths over longer campaigns, Gettysburg’s concentrated three-day combat makes it historically unparalleled in terms of immediate loss of life

Comparing the deadliness of battles in this question is like comparing kittens to lions with the justification that “they are both CATS!”

Dan Ridgway, For those of us who were there will strongly disagree. While officially considered a "conflict" it WAS a battle. Daily.
