Life Savers is an American brand of ring-shaped hard and soft candy. Its range of mints and fruit-flavored candies is known for its distinctive packaging, coming in paper-wrapped aluminum foil rolls.

The candy was created in 1912. Originally, these hard mints were pressed into shape by a pill manufacturer as the creator of the candy had no opportunity (or money) to do it on his own. The formula was sold to Edward Noble and he started his own production of these peppermint candies.

This might be interesting: Even though the mints were created by another man, it was Mr. Noble who began to sell mints wrapped in tin foil.
