What was the very first music video played on MTV?
The first day on air for one of the most popular TV Channels in the world, MTV, was the 1st of August, 1981. There were 4 music videos to be broadcasted for the first time on that day, but the one at the head was the Buggles' "Video Killed The Radio Star". The first MTV's day was rebroadcast on VH1 Classic music channel in 2006, as it is considered to be a very significant moment in the history of television.

As a DJ back in the 70's and 80's I remember the launch of MTV, it struggled initially but around the time Thriller was released it began to take off and had a good run, but the last 20 years it has gone downhill. With the availability of any video/music anytime on YouTube and the the worthless programming on MTV (IMO). MTV has become irrelevant
