jimham, the R&R Hall of Fame began inducting members when it was created in 1983 (and did so every year since then), but it opened a physical presence (actually "The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum") that was open to the public in 1995 - but the Hall of Fame existed since its foundation in 1983. So the answer to the question, "When was the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame created?" is still 1983.

This answer is incorrect, the foundation for the R&R Hall of fame was created in 1983 but the Hall of game was not created until 1995.

So technically I was correct. The Hall did not open until 1995. Did not realize it was created back in 1983, the year I went into tje Navy for my 5 year tour. Oddly, I had a membership gifted to me. I lived in Cleveland for about a year and a half. Never actually walked through it, however. Drove by it a few times on my way to other places. I love music. Not sure why I never went inside. Maybe subconsciously not going inside was a protest against the Hall for all the groups that should be in there but are not? Just never got there. Go figure.
