Where are the world's tallest power lines located?

The world’s tallest power lines are found in Jiangyin, China. Most of them are at least 1,137 feet off the ground. They are on power line suspension towers, which flank the Yangtze River in Jiangyin, China. The Yangtze River power line crossings are overhead power lines that cross the Yangtze River in China.

There are at least three power line crossings on the Yangtze River at Jiangyin, Nanjing, and Wuhu. The towers with crossings in Jiangyin of themamong clearly are the tallest in the world. Chinese power grid workers who actually installed the world's tallest pylons during construction had to brave heights up to ninety stories.

The workmen were required to work at a height of 885 feet as they installed a crossing tower for a new line of ultra high voltage cable stretching from Anhui province to Shanghai (a distance of 268 miles). The workers were strapped into safety harnesses but use flimsy rope ladders to go up and down the pylons. But, with many safety efforts in place, the project was completed as planned.
