Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco on the 27th of November, 1940, then his parents moved to China and he lived there until his late teens. He returned to the United States at the age of 18 to receive his higher education.

Actor Bruce Lee, actually, was the main reason why "martial arts" caught on in the United States. He was a force to be reckoned with during his era. His biggest break came playing the role of "Kato" on the television show "The Green Hornet." Before he moved on to the big screen features & taking on the likes of basketball star Kareem Abdual Jabbar, Chuck "Walker, Texas Ranger" Norris, & Jim "Black Belt Jones" Kelly.

Unlike most of the action stars of today, Bruce was a true martial artist. One of his earliest teachers was China's famous Yip Man (Check out the movies with Donnie Yen) studying Wing Chun. In Game of Death, we see Kareem Abdul Jabar, the famous baskeball star, who was one of Bruces students. The man he fights with nunchuks (Pasquale) is Dan Inosanto, one of his top students and master of the style Bruce founded, Jeet Kune Do. In Enter the Dragon he gave Chuck Norris, former world kick boxing champion, his start. He helped to start MMA by openly advocating learning and utilizing multiple styles to make a more well rounded fighter. Cool fact: the cameras of the day couldn't keep up with Bruce. He had to slow down for movies. Uncool fact: his son, Brandon, was a fantastic martial artis in his own right who died all to young during the making of his first major release, The Crow.
