Where was Elizabeth Taylor born?

Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor was born on the 27th of February, 1932 in London. Her parents were wealthy and respected Americans, and the family moved to Los Angeles in 1939. Elizabeth became a talented actress, began as a child actress and was given a film contract by Universal Pictures in the USA. She also was an influential humanitarian and a successful businesswoman. Taylor is usually referred to as one of the most popular actresses of the classic era of Hollywood. Even after finishing her filming career Elizabeth remained a famous public figure and was officially named the seventh greatest female screen legend in 1999.

Elizabeth died on the 23th of March, 2011. She is still remembered and loved by her fans from all over the world.

Nancy Forrest Elizabeth Taylor was not "knighted". That is an honor reserved for men, when the title of "Sir" is conferred. There is no comparable verb to use when a woman is conferred the title of Dame. Other words or phrases such as "made a Dame" are used instead. For example, Elizabeth Taylor was dubbed Dame Elizabeth by Queen Elizabeth II in 1999.

Unfortunately, the English language fails us when looking for the feminine version of "knighted". I did some extensive research to discover the facts of the matter. Her comment seemed odd to me when stating a woman was knighted, so after investigating, I thought to share my findings. Nothing in my comment was intended to find fault; only to be informative, nor was it meant to be sexist or chauvinistic, only factual.

Elizabeth Taylor was the recipient of the Jean Herschalt Humanitarian Award by the Academy Awards for her efforts to raise funding and awareness for AIDS, which had stricken many of her colleagues in the entertainment industry and people throughout the world. Perhaps Taylor's most admirable quality was her compassion. Taylor was also knighted by Queen Elizabeth II as a Dame of the British Empire, as have Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Anthony Hopkins, and Ian MacKellan.

Whether you are fine with her usage is of little consequence to me. I have always loved Elizabeth’s many different movies. She didn’t just play dramatic parts, some comical. “Father of the Bride” “Father’s Little Dividend” also, “Little Women” I have enjoyed all of her movies and will for many years to come. Beautiful lady💜💜

WilliamRLaughlin, you are partially correct in that there is no female equivalent to a Knighthood however women are actually APPOINTED to become a Dame. Elizabeth Taylor, being born in London, would automatically have had British citizenship together with her American citizenship because of her parents however the title of Dame would have been an honorary one and would not have allowed her to sit in the House of Lords or to have any jurisdiction in any affairs of state.
