Which amendment to the United States Constitution was repealed in 1933?
The 18th amendment prohibited the manufacturing or sale of alcohol within the United States.
Note from history: Before the amendment was ratified, bars were mostly male establishments. When the amendment was repealed on the 5th of December, 1933, both men and women celebrated the occasion.

Those of you who are not American, I say to you, why do I care about the Queen, or the War between so and so in 1282, or, the meaning of some Gaelic phrase. This is an international community. We all have to answer questions we have no idea about, have no desire to know about, etc. could we please show each other some RESPECT??

This was a fascinating time in the history of our country and it's people. My grandparents owned an illegal bar which was stocked by the rum running Joe Kennedy who made the family fortune running boot leg booze. I did a college paper on prohibition with my Grandmother's help. She was full of great information that wasn't in the history books because she lived it. They had an inside to the Indy police dept to keep from getting busted from a raid and a school bus in the alley behind the bar to move everything to and drive away before one happened when a tip came through. Then the place looked like it was just a social club where folks met to play cards, darts, dominoes, dance and chat. With beverages like tea, coffee and lemonade. They always had plenty of warning. Never last minute like in the silly movies.

The 18th Amendment, worst thing that ever happened to America, at least before Pearl Harbor.
Do we need anymore proof that government overreach creates ORGANIZED CRIME!?

Got it. My dad played drums in a quartet that frequently played in speakeasy bars. Gotta make a living. That after he worked at least a 40 hour week as a warehousman. Not fun, but necessary.

Corey Taylor, any laws are broken the less laws you have doesn't do a thing. Except make a nest of people who run over top others in many cases. The government overreach comes from the right trying to run people's personal lives of love, Marriage and sexuality plus women's within body uterus. Other than that you side wants the whole country run amuck acting like no one else's opinion or needs are to be considered..we consider yours and your life we expect the same..
