I was in the Logan Airport terminal in Boston at the time about to board the shuttle to NYC for the weekend. I boarded and sat next to a middle aged lady who quietly sobbed on my shoulder throughout the flight. To this day, I cannot talk about that day and that weekend without choking up and tearing up. Pearl Harbor, JFK and 9-11 are the three events I can relive in vivid and tragic detail.

I didn't know, as I was in school at the time, 10th grade Social Studies. Besides, I only watched ABC soap operas, one of which may also have been interrupted.

Joan Norris Brigham, not sure it was the beginning of corruption in politics. Corruption has been around for a good while.

I was feeding my one-month old daughter when my husband came in from work and told me the news that Presiden Kennedy got shot. I did not have the TV on but we turned it on right away and heard the details. We will never know what his legacy as a full-term president would have been. His death was devastating to say the least.

I was a young child at home with my mother, who screamed when she heard the news. I will never forget that scream, and that day...the murder of, in my opinion, the last true American President.

Richard D. Boyle, the first two were before my time, but I remember 9-11 very clearly. I feel sorry for my cousin, because that's her birthday

I was on a Greyhound bus leaving to go home from college for the weekend. The driver came on and told us. We had been having political discussions in the dorm the day before, and I was one of the non JFK fans. I immediately wrote a letter to my friends to let them know that, dispite my political leanings, I was as devastated as any other American at the assassination of our President. I guessed the show interrupted because I think only two of the choices were aired back then.

I was in 2nd grade when our superintendent came in to tell us. Our school was about 100 people at the time and we all went to the gym where they played the funeral on about a 30 inch tv. I wouldn't say we watched it but we were in the room.

I was 11 years old and sitting at my desk, 3 seats back, in first row. An 8th grade teacher opened the door and interrupted our class. She was as white as a sheet when she announced what had happened. You could have heard a pin drop. The town I lived in was less than 2 hours away from Dallas, so everyone was deeply affected. I remember looking around the classroom at my classmates and their stunned expressions. No words were spoken. I laid my head down on my desk, but didn't cry. I didn't know what to think-it was too much for me to comprehend.
