Which country does the Azores Archipelago belong to?
The Azores archipelago consists of 9 beautiful islands, located in the heart of the Atlantic Ocean, presenting a picture of pristine nature. It's no wonder, since inhabitants are far from the "destructive" impact of modern society. The main industries here are tourism and agriculture. Even the name of the archipelago is beautiful. According to legend, the Azores take their name from the Portuguese word "azures", similar to the English "azure", meaning blue.
I've never been there as my daughter and her family lived in the Canaries and since they are now in Croatia and I am in South Africa I can't see me getting there.
