Which division of General Motors produced the "LaSalle"?

LaSalle was a brand of automobiles manufactured and marketed by the Cadillac Division of General Motors. They were produced from 1927 to 1940. The LaSalle was an entry level luxury automobile priced just below Cadillac and just above Buick. The LaSalle was the first automobile designed by legendary automotive designer Harley Earl, who would go on to revolutionize automobile design and pioneered the concept car.

I, too, almost said Buick and then remembered it was the 1960 Buick LeSabre I was thinking of.

Since the new car was intended to compete against the Packard Six, logic dictated that of GM's five auto making divisions, Cadillac should be the one to produce it. Thus, since it was to be a "companion" car to the Cadillac, it was logical that Cadillac's usual engineering practices should be followed in its construction -- including the landmark L-head V-8 that Cadillac had pioneered back in 1915.
