Which dog breed lives the longest?

Almost 40 percent of small dog breeds live longer than 10 years.Chihuahuas are one of the longest living breeds, and perhaps because they're also one of the smallest. The longest living Chihuahua on record actually passed away in January of this year at 20-years-old.

Little dogs live longer than big ones. I have a 15 year old Pomeranian. He's still active.

The oldest dog ever lived so far is a cattle dog in Australia. Lived to 29yrs. Its in the Guinness world records. I have 2 chihuahua's one 7 and 5. The 7yr old has a bad heart. Won't live to a long age but with medication he seems normal and fit.

I have a Chihuahua/terrier mix and she's already 11 years old. They live longer, because they predominately live indoors.

I heard years ago that Lhasa Apsos can live up yo 35 years.

My Scottie passed from bladder cancer at 13 1/2. My mix "Mutt" is part Pit, lab and jack Russell. She was 14 last Oct. She sometimes thinks she's still a playful puppy even though she has arthritis in her hips. But I have read that smaller dogs live longer.

Lilian Ling, No dog is half human it is an animal. You may train it to do things or it may copy you in some areas, but it is and always will be an animal, not an human or even half human.
