With the animated films, Racing Stripes (2005), Doogal (2006), and The Rugrats Movie (1998), animated characters were featured in these films using the voice of Whoopi Goldberg. Whoopi Goldberg's voice was not used in Finding Nemo(2003).

In Racing Stripes, Whoopi played a goat named Franny, and she lived on a farm. She is one of the animals who is helping the owner of the farm to train a gifted race horse. As Ermintrude in Doogal, Whoopi is part of a group who are trying to stop an evil ice wizard from starting a new ice age. Third, Whoopi is a guest star in The Rugrats Movie and as Ranger Margaret she meets the Rugrats at her cabin after they get themselves lost in the woods. They are all trying to get home in one piece.

The film Finding Nemo was produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It stars the voices of Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Alexander Gould, and Willem Dafoe. Whoopi Goldberg was never hired to participate in filming any part of this picture. Since it was released in 2003, it has received universal critical acclaim and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
