Reread the question and then consult Wikipedia (please note the spelling) again. You will see that while the Seikan Tunnel is indeed the longest, that is not what the question asks. The question is as follows, "Which tunnel has the longest UNDERWATER SECTION in the world? Wikipedia confirms that The Chunnel has the longest UNDERWATER SECTION. Details are important!

The Japanese tunnel is longer, but the underwater portion of it is not. More of the UK tunnel is underwater. That is what I am guessing that means.

Got it correct; answer was obvious. The Chunnel, as it is sometimes called, travels under the Strait of Dover, the narrowest point of the English Channel.

williamrlaughlin, The question reads Which tunnel has the second longest underwater section in the world? Details are important! Second longest....

The question asks which tunnel has the SECOND LONGEST underwater section. Japan's Seikan Tunnel has the longest and the Chunnel has the second longest. It pays to read and understand the question before answering!

Anyone can look it up. That's not the point of the questions. It's what you know and don't know.

willamrlaughlin, you’re comments are usually spot on, but you need to reread the question again. It does in fact ask for the tunnel with the SECOND LONGEST underwater section, not the LONGEST.
