Which US president hailed from New Hampshire?

On this day in 1869, President Ulysses S. Grant announced the death of former President Franklin Pierce. Pierce's presidency was remembered mostly for his failure to end the debate over slavery. He died at his home in Concord, New Hampshire.

Pierce was, and still remains the only president to hail from New Hampshire.

Pierce lived from November 23, 1804 until October 8, 1869. By the way this explanation was written, knowing that not all of us get the question on the same date, we still can't be sure of the date Grant announced pierce's death. I think that's what we get with cut and pasted articles taken out of context. How did this one pass review?

Mount Pierce is one of NH 48,4k mountains. It is also part of the Presidential range in NH White Mountains.

We've had questions that weren't supported by any article at all, but this one is supposedly supported by a history.com article consisting of snippets of general historical interest with none of them touching upon the subject at hand.

Going by the comments, this Q first went around 5 yrs ago, it's being recycled now, and STILL hasn't been corrected so the date of death is listed in the explanation! Not every player gets the question on the anniversary of President Pierce's death 🙄
