Which film composer has been nominated for the most Academy Awards of all time?
With 50 Academy Award nominations, John Williams is the most nominated film composer in the history of the Academy Awards. And, he is the second most nominated person in Academy Awards history behind Walt Disney’s 59. Forty five (45) of Williams’ Oscar nominations are for Best Original Score and five are for Best Original Song. He has won four Oscars for Best Original Score and one for Best Scoring: Adaptation and Original Song Score.
To date, during his life, Williams has won a total of five (5) Academy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, seven British Academy Film Awards, and 22 Grammy Awards. Concerning professional awards about film scores, Williams is the most nominated film composer of all times.
