Alexia Putellas Segura (born 4 February 1994) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Spain national team and captain of Primera División club Barcelona. She is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world.

Barcelona won the treble (three trophies in a single season) last season with Alexia Putellas playing a key role in the Spanish side’s success. She won the Ballon d'or Féminin (Women's Golden Ball) Feminin for 2021 and is just the third female player to win the prize after Ada Hegerberg and Megan Rapinoe.

Having already been crowned UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Women’s Player of the Year, Putellas was favourite to land the award handed out by France Football. The Barcelona captain, 27, steered her side to the Spanish league and cup in 2020-21, and then completed the treble when beating Chelsea in the Champions League final.
