Athena was the Greek goddess of reason, crafts, courage, law, justice and war strategy. She was depicted as a stately woman armed with a shield and spear, and wearing a long robe, crested helm, and the famed aegis - a snake-trimmed cape.

According to the Classical Olympian Pantheon, Athena was Zeus' favorite child. She had no mother and appeared full-grown and armed from Zeus' forehead. She was allowed to use her father's weapons, even the thunderbolt. Athena often fought in battles, where she was brave and courageous. Anyway, the goddess of war strategy only protected her state from the outside enemies. Athena brought a lot of agricultural inventions and improvements and even invented several musical instruments. Athena was often compared with an owl. An olive tree was her usual symbol.
