Who is the only right handed Professional Bowler Association member to pick up the 7-10 split (the bedpost) on national television?

Roth is a member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Hall of Fame (inducted 1987) and the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Hall of Fame (inducted 2009).

Mark Roth is the first and one of only 3 bowlers to make the 7-10 "bed post" split on television, along with John Mazza and Jess Stayrook.

Roth is the only right hander to make the 7-10; Mazza and Stayrook are lefties.

Roger Beattie, there are ten bowling pins shaped in a triangle with the one pin at the top and the seven, eight, nine, and ten pin in the back row....if all the pins are knocked down with your first ball except the seven and ten, that is a seven, ten split....very hard to pick up with your second ball...

When I went to college, we had to take several semesters of classes in the Physical Education Dept. One of the options was bowling. I took that during one of the summer sessions. I wasn't the greatest of bowlers but enjoyed it. During one of the classes, while my teacher was watching, I managed to pick up the 7-10 split. We were all in "shock" at this accomplishment which I never repeated.

Your answer is incorrect because there have actually been four bowlers who have accomplished this on national television and there are TWO of them listed in your answers! John Mazza also picked up the split on TV and since then there have been two others!

Roger Beattie, After the first roll, if only the 7 and 10 pins are left standing, that's a very hard spare to make. Those pins are on the same row and at opposite ends of same. If you make it, it's called picking up the 7-10 split.

Gary Smith, the placement of the 7 and 10 pin make it easier for a ball coming from the left side to hit or spin that 7 pin across into the 10. Coming from the right side it’s more likely to flip left or straight back than move all the way right, hitting the 10 pin. Hope that helps.
