Arthur Morton Godfrey (August 31, 1903 – March 16, 1983) was a well-known American radio and television broadcaster and entertainer who was often introduced by his memorable nickname, The Old Redhead. At the peak of his career, Godfrey helmed a 90-minute mid-morning show and two CBS-TV weekly series.

Godfrey had always been associated with his numerous sponsors, such as Lipton Tea and Chesterfield cigarettes. His phrase "Buy 'em by the carton" from the Chesterfield advertisement became his symbol and a well-known slogan of the company. Anyway, Godfrey had to terminate his partnership with the company, as he had lung cancer symptoms and had to quit smoking. Nevertheless, he was diagnosed with the disease in 1959 and became an active spokesman for anti-smoking.
