Robert Louis “Bob” Fosse was a talented American actor born on the 23rd of June, 1927. He was also a well-known film editor and director, screenwriter, theater director and choreographer. He received 8 Tony Awards for his achievements in choreography and one Tony Award for direction. Fosse won an Oscar for his direction of Cabaret. He was nominated for an Academy Award several times.

Mary Ann Niles became Fosse's first wife in 1949. The marriage lasted until 1951. Fosse's second marriage was to dancer Joan McCracken (December 1952-59). His third wife was dancer/actress Gwen Verdon in 1960; and they had a daughter, Nicole Providence Fosse, who is an actress and dancer. They separated in the 1970s, but remained legally married until the actor's death. Bob's third wife never remarried.

On September 23, 1987, Bob Fosse died at the age of 60 from a heart attack.
