An American actress Lauren Bacall is in the picture. She was a true star of the Golden Age of the American film industry. She began working as a model, but after the performance in the film To Have and Have Not in 1944 Lauren went on the screen. She started working in the film noir motion pictures, later starring in the romantic comedies and musicals. Lauren's main distinguishing feature was her inimitable voice and sizzling looks.

Lauren made her debut on the screen mostly because of her beauty. She was only 19 years old, when the wife of the famed director Howard Hawks spotted Lauren's picture on the cover of Harper's Bazaar and arranged with her husband to have Lauren take a screen test. The result was entirely positive, she was given the part of Marie Browning in To Have and Have Not, a thriller opposite the great Humphrey Bogart. This set the tone not only for a brilliant career but also one of Hollywood's greatest love stories. Bogart married Bacall in 1945. They continued working together in several other movies.
