With what crime were the two criminals who were crucified with Jesus charged with?
For the correct answer, according to The Holy Bible, NKJV, see Matthew 27:38. The same answer appears in other versions, with some using the word "thieves" instead. One of the thieves chided Jesus, charging Him to come down off the cross and save them all, while the other acknowledged Jesus' divinity, and thereby, was assured his entrance into heaven.

Richard Price It is not believing in Jesus that matters. He was just a man. The test is living up to the ideals he stood for that matters. One does not have to accept his divinity in order to live a moral life. Christ was the ultimate liberal. He never felt the need to give drug tests or judge before giving aid or assistance.

Mark Forrer Is there any other sane choice to be made? And if you are truly Christian, you must be. You have to follow the generous, non-judgmental values set forth by Christ. Regardless of religious leanings, I am proud to be liberal. Liberals are responsible for so many of the social values we hold today.
To quote Lawrence O'Donnell Jr,
"Liberals got women the right to vote.
Liberals got African-Americans the right to vote.
Liberals created Social Security and lifted millions of elderly out of poverty.
Liberals ended segregation.
Liberals passed the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act.
Liberals created Medicare.
Liberals passed the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act.
What did conservatives do?
They opposed them on every one of these things, every one. So when you try to hurl that label at my feet,"Liberal", as if it were something to be ashamed of, something dirty, something to run away from, it won't work, because I will pick up that label and I will wear it like a badge of honor."
Conservatives have been on the wrong side of history every step of the way. Take a look at the conservative, "red" states in the US. The red states have by far the least educated people, greater poverty, and require more than their fair share of Federal aid to stay afloat.
Yes, I think I'll be liberal all my life. If you were a thinking man, you would be, too!

However, in biblical times under Roman rule, there were only two crimes for which a person could be crucified: runaway slaves and insurrection. Arson, extortion, murder or robbery were dealt with in other ways. It's just that New Testament Greek does have a word for "insurrection" so "thief", better "criminal" was the best they could do.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to ask this but why on earth is everyone arguing about liberalism and conservatism. The question above is a religious question, not a political one. Take a hike and shame on you for crossing the line, people!

Great Biblical trivia.
Just wondering if we could leave politics out??

Terence Tomes I know my history. You just demonstrated that your grasp of history is cloudy. You are confusing political parties and ideology. I distinctly said "liberals" without reference to political party. In Lincoln's day, the Republicans WERE the liberals. As far as civil rights in the 60s, the Democrats, who had become the liberal party, played a greater role in enacting civil rights legislation than the Republicans did. Of course Republicans had a role, but that was in a time when conservatives understood compromise. Today it is their way or no way at all, to the point they will shut down the government, to the detriment of all, while they have their tantrum.

William Laughlin, I've been a liberal alo my life, and I'm pretty old. I believe in Christ.

I hate the use of a site like this for promotion of religious material -- your relationship with your god is your business no-one elses. The inclusion of a link to a bible web site in the answer is unacceptable, as is any link to any religious site (and for that matter political one either). Ask the question, fair enough, but then to promote a religious site - NO!

Definitely robbery, which is why they invented No More Nails.

William Laughlin, Jesus was fully man AND fully God. His is the only name under heaven whereby a man( woman) can be saved. Peace

Writing this as an absolute is obtuse. According to the Bible, its should say. There are many religious books out there and not all agree with your indoctrination.

William Laughlin, Why do you feel a need to explain yourself? Instead of picking up a liberal badge and wearing it with honor take the badge off, consider volunteering, cleaning a section of highway, providing blankets/clothes to the homeless, and so on. That's where real honor comes from, not flapping gums or a metaphoric badge. If you do volunteer, great. Does telling the quiz participants validate yourself?

eric maser, because they are more intelligent, but not nearly as smart as me.
RJ Pruett
Jesus took no political stance btw. So to say he was liberal is not the least bit accurate. All those social issues that have been mentioned were not supported by liberals at all.
