Which of the following is not a 'Cluster A' personality disorder in psychological terms?
According to the Diagnostic Manual (The DSM-5), they list 10 personality disorders and allocates each to one of three groups or "clusters": A, B, or C.
Cluster A’s are considered to be odd, bizarre, and eccentric, including Paranoid PD, and Schizoid PD.
Cluster B’s are generally to be considered dramatic and erratic, including Antisocial PD, Sociopathy, Borderline PD, Narcissistic PD and Psychopathic PD.
Cluster C’s are known to be anxious and fearful personality disorders, including Obsessive Compulsive (OCPD) and Avoidant PD.
Since the degradation of society beginning with excessive wealth and status, there has been a large increase in Cluster B personality disorders, especially narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). Everyone has a touch of healthy narcissism but with social media, technology (such as video sites and "selfies", plastic surgery, disposable income, etc.) this issue has grown into an international epidemic and not many people will admit it nor realize it can be real enough to be an actual personality disorder. Some NPD's are introverted and quiet.
NPD is generally recognized by the following symptoms:
• Arrogance and domineering.
• Grandiosity.
• Preoccupation with success and power.
• Lack of empathy.
• Belief of being superior.
• Sense of entitlement.
• Requires excessive admiration.
• Exploitative/vindictive.
