The Four Holy Marshals venerated by the Catholic church are Anthony the Great; Cornelius; Hubertus; Quirinis of Neuss.

They are revered in the Rhineland in Germany, especially at Cologne, Liège, Aachen and Eifel; are believed to stand particularly close to the throne of God, and, because of this, have powerful intercessory powers against diseases and epidemics.

St Anthony the Great is regarded as one of the greatest saints of the early Church, His feast day is celebrated on 17th January. He is invoked as a patron saint against infectious diseases, specifically the plague, and is the patron saint of pigs.

Saint Cornelius was the Bishop of Rome, or Pope, from March 251 until his death in June 253. His feast day is celebrated on 16th September. He is the patron saint invoked against cramps and epilepsy and is the patron saint of cattle and the town of Kornelimünster, Germany, where his head is enshrined

St Hubertus, or Hubert, was a Christian saint, of noble birth, who became the first Bishop of Liège. His feast day is celebrated on 3rd November. He is invoked as a patron saint against rabies and dog bites and is the patron saint of dogs.

St. Quirinus of Neuss, or Quirin, was born in the first century and died in the year 116 A.D. His feast day is celebrated on 30th March or 30th April. He is the patron saint for those affected by smallpox and goitre and is the patron saint of horses.
