In which year was the 'World's Strongest Man' Hall of Fame created?
The World's Strongest Man is an international strongman competition held every year. Organized by American event management company IMG (International Management Group), a subsidiary of Endeavor, it is broadcast in the US during summers and in the UK around the end of December each year. The competition has been won by 24 men representing 13 nationalities.
The 1st edition of World's Strongest Man and was held at the Universal Studios, California and took place over ten weeks. The title was won by Bruce Wilhelm from the United States. It was his first title. Bob Young from the United States finished second, and Ken Patera also from the United States third.
The World's Strongest Man Hall of Fame was created in 2008 to recognize the greatest competitors in the history of the contest. As of 2024, there are eight members of the World's Strongest Man Hall of Fame; Svend Karlsen, Bill Kazmaier, Mariusz Pudzianowski, Magnus Ver Magnusson, Magnus Samuelsson, Jón Páll Sigmarsson, Geoff Capes, and Žydrūnas Savickas.
