Where is the Italian island of Capri located?
The Italian island of Capri lies in the Gulf of Naples, a bay on the Italian Mediterranean coast in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The 10.4 km² limestone island is located about 5 km off the Apennine Peninsula; its highest point is Monte Solaro at 589 m. Capri is best known for its sea caves, the most popular of which is the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra), located in the northwest of the island. The island enjoys a balanced and mild climate; the evergreen vegetation is complemented by terraced vineyards, olive groves, and fruit trees.
The Gulf of La Spezia is located in the easternmost part of the Italian region of Liguria in the Ligurian Sea.
The Gulf of Venice lies in the northern part of the Adriatic Sea, or the Upper Adriatic. Its most famous part is the Venetian Lagoon.
