Which fruit is sometimes called a Chinese gooseberry?
Nature

Kiwi or Kiwifruit is an oval-shaped fruit with green flesh and small edible black seeds. The fruit has thin, fuzzy brown skin that is usually removed but can be eaten if desired. Kiwis originated in South China and were known in English as Chinese gooseberries. Later, kiwi seeds were introduced and grown in New Zealand. In 1959, the fruit was renamed after the kiwi, a native bird of New Zealand.
Kiwis contain many vitamins and minerals, particularly vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium, and fibre. Kiwis have more vitamin C than oranges, which are usually the go-to fruit for vitamin C.
There are several types of kiwifruit. The most common is the Hayward, but other popular kinds include chico and golden kiwifruit. Golden kiwifruit is sweeter than Hayward kiwifruit. It was invented by grafting and cross-pollinating different types of kiwi to achieve the desired taste.
