Which of the following letters is one of the letters that scores the second (2nd) highest points in Scrabble?
In the English-language set, the Scrabble game contains 100 tiles, worth a combined 187 total points, which come together to form every word in the English language (that even includes “oxyphenbutazone,” which is the highest-scoring legal Scrabble word by the power of math (1,778 points after bonuses). 98 tiles are marked with a letter and a point value ranging from 1 to 10. The number of points for each letter tile is based on the letter's frequency in standard English.
Commonly used letters such as vowels are worth one point, while less common letters score higher, with Q and Z each worth 10 points. Q and Z are the rarest tiles, with only one each in a Scrabble set. The next most valuable letters are J and X, which only appear once and are worth 8 points.
Scrabble also has two blank tiles that are unmarked and carry no point value. The blank tiles can be used as substitutes for any letter; once laid on the board, however, the choice is fixed. Other language sets use different letter set distributions with varying values of point.
