A model from which country became Miss Earth 2019?

Miss Earth 2019 was the 19th edition of the Miss Earth pageant. It was held on October 26, 2019, at Cove Manila at Okada Manila, Parañaque City, Philippines. Nguyễn Phương Khánh of Vietnam crowned Nellys Pimentel of Puerto Rico as her successor at the end of the event. This marks the first time Puerto Rico has won Miss Earth, becoming the fourth country (and the first territory) to win at least once in all of the Big Four international beauty pageants.

Nellys Rocio Pimentel Campusano (born 1997) is a Puerto Rican model and beauty pageant.

Pimentel was crowned Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2019 on May 5, 2019, at Ambassador Theatre. She also won Miss Photogenic. As Miss Earth Puerto Rico, she competed at the Miss Earth 2019 pageant in Manila, Philippines.

It seems a lot of our brother and sister Quizzclubbers were confused by the question, and said the USA, only to be told they were wrong. Or, did they get it right and are simply complaining? Which is fine as it's nice to have accuracy in our little group. I remember working with a number of Puerto Ricans in Vietnam who had been drafted. It always seemed to me they should have greater representation in Washington if not statehood.

You all are getting your terminology mixed up. Puerto Rico is a country. It is part of the nation of the USA. "Country" is the land. "State" is the government. "Nation" is the people. When people say country, they usually mean "Nation".

Since Puerto Rico is a TERRITORY of the UNITED STATES, the CORRECT ANSWER for what the question asks is the UNITED STATES. Puerto Rico is NOT a separate country. It seeks statehood, for crying out loud. Problem is, Puerto Rico is a drain on the economy of the United States. Its government is corrupt. Puerto Rico depends on welfare funds for an overly large amount of its citizenry, and has am extremely low literacy rate and a high jobless rate. Puerto Rico could not survive without the United States' support. It is a great port for cruise lines as well as US Navy and Coast Guard ships. But it isi NOT A NATION UNTO ITSELF.
