A tune called "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac is associated with introducing coverage of which sport in the UK?
Taken from Fleetwood Mac's 1977 album "Rumours" the instrumental section of this piece became iconic as the introductory music for Formula 1 coverage on both the BBC and Channel 4. Although the BBC lost the rights to live broadcasts of Formula 1 Races in 2015 the music remains widely recognised, and has come, by extension, to be associated with motor racing and muscle cars in general.
"The Chain" could be taken as proof that recycling can be highly productive, as it was formed from an amalgam of previously rejected tracks and was originally produced in Sausalito, Calilfornia, by methods including slashing the tapes with razor blades - technology in the 70s wasn't what it is now!
Some also point to the track being proof and manifestation of splits and factions in the band itself.
