According to the Bible, where did Noah's Ark come to rest after the flood?
In the Bible book of Genesis chapter 6, the Lord commanded Noah to build an ark because the people on earth had become so corrupt. Noah built the ark according to the Lord’s specification. "The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks." (Gen. 6:15-16) Noah gathered his three sons and their wives and his own wife and entered the ark along with all the animals that the Lord has provided.
In Genesis chapter 7, the Bible says that the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and it rained for 40 days and 40 nights flooding the entire earth to a depth of 15 cubits above the top of the highest mountain. And the waters covered the earth for 150 days. At the end of the 150 days the water receded and the Ark came to rest in the mountains of Ararat.
The "Mountains of Ararat" are found in eastern Turkey. The mountain consists of the prominent volcanic peaks, Greater Ararat and Little Ararat with the highest peak topping out at 16,854' (5,137 M)
There have been many men who have searched the mountains for the Ark and there have been some claims of discovery. But no clear evidence of the remains of the giant biblical boat have been found.
