The Beatles were an English rock-pop band, whose members were all born in Liverpool.

They were influenced by 1950s American rock and roll, but in the late 60s and 70s became experimental with other genres, such as rock, ballads and metal/punk.

The members of the band were John Lennon and Paul McCartney, who first joined forces as teenagers in 1957, and George Harrison, who joined a year later. The final member, Ringo Starr, joined in 1962.

Liverpool is a large English city, whose many claims to fame include the home place of The Beatles. The city is also known for their Premier League football (soccer) team Liverpool Football Club (FC). The team was founded in 1892, and has won six European Cups. As of 2021, this is more than any other British team.

The City is home to six United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Sites. These are Pier Head, Royal Albert Dock, Stanley Dock, Castle Street, William Brown Street, and Lower Duke Street. All six contributed greatly to British history, particularly the dock areas along the River Mersey. Liverpool was involved in the development of modern dock technology, transport systems, and building construction.
