Americans sure do love their spuds. According to data from 2019, potatoes were the most commonly consumed vegetable in the U.S., at an average of 49 pounds per person.

Tomatoes followed close behind, despite technically being a fruit, with 31 pounds per person. The third most popular vegetable in the country that year—onions—came in at a comparatively low 9.4 pounds per person.
