As of 2021 Carson Wentz plays quarterback for which American National Football League (NFL) team?
Carson James Wentz (born December 30, 1992) is an American football quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). Wentz played college football at North Dakota State, where he won five NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) national championships. He was selected second overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2016 draft.
Wentz was traded to the Colts on March 17, 2021 in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a 2022 conditional second-round pick. He was reunited with former Philadelphia Eagles coordinator and current Indianapolis Colts' head coach Frank Reich. During training camp, Wentz suffered a foot injury that required him to have surgery. He underwent the surgery on August 2, 2021.
Despite the foot surgery, Wentz was able to return in time for the September 12 season opener at home against the Seattle Seahawks, where he completed 25-of-38 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns, but the Colts fell short 28–16 in his Indianapolis debut.
His most successful season was 2017 when he led the Eagles to an 11–2 record. Although he suffered a season-ending injury, Wentz helped put the Eagles in position to obtain the top seed of the National Football Conference (NFC), which culminated with the franchise's first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl LII. He also earned Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors. Amid a production dip in 2020, Wentz lost his starting job to rookie Jalen Hurts.
