Benjamin "Ben" Andrew Stokes (born 1991) is an English international cricketer who also plays for Durham Cricket club. He won Man of the Match during the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Stokes was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, but moved to northern England at the age of 12. He started playing for local cricket teams and became a talented left-handed batsman. By July 2020, Stokes was ranked the top-ranked Test all-rounder in the world.

Stokes began playing for Durham in 2009, and had a very successful debut season in first-class cricket the following year. Durham won the 2013 County Championship, and in 2014, Stoke was named Man of the Match in the the Royal London One-Day Cup Final at Lord's Cricket Ground in London.

Durham Cricket club was founded in 1882 but remained a fairly small club until their first-class debut in 1992. They won the County Championship in 2008, 2009 and 2013. The club plays their home matches at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street. They started playing in Division Two of the County Championship during the 2017 season.
