As of 2024, eight Olympic Games have been held in Asia, including four Summer Olympics (Tokyo 1964, Seoul 1988, Beijing 2008 and Tokyo 2020) and four Winter Olympics (Sapporo 1972, Nagano 1998, PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022).

Japan was the first Asian country to host four Olympic Games - two Summer and two Winter Games. Tokyo was the first Asian city to host two Summer Olympics.
