Mel Brooks is a well-known American actor, director and producer of Jewish origin. He is one of the artists to have received such awards as Oscar, Emmy, Tony, and Grammy. He still works with such genres as comedy and farce.

He met his second wife, Anne Bancroft, in 1961. They got married three years later and were together until Anne's death on the 6th of June, 2005. Their son, Max Brooks, was born in 1972. Mel often says his wife was his main inspiration.
