Heath Ledger was a great actor and his tragic death at such a young age deprived us of whom I believe would have becme a legendary actor. I have seen the movie three times and think that the theme is beautiful. I also have a copy of the original short story and believe that the aclaim which the movie enjoyed is directly the result of the fact that the movie script is nearly identical to the short story. It is a beautiful story, but sadly is pretty indicative of the plight of too many gay men.

It was a beautiful movie. The story,the photography, the music,the acting..the whole package was fantastic. I saw it 4 times. I play the CD often.

Seems we have a homophobe in our midst. It doesn't make a difference whether you liked the movie or not, and to say you hated it just proves what I said. What matters is that he was GREAT in the movie and very convincing like someone else said. And as what everyone else said, it is indicative of the plight of too many gay men, and women.

Ledger's tortured, quiet, practically monosyllabic delivery in Brokeback Mountain was brilliant! Growing up in a small Southern US state I knew guys who communicated just like his character did in the film.

I saw Brokeback, a true "forbidden" love story. I cared about the main characters and empathized with their plight. I would suppose it's much more difficult to live an alternative lifestyle in the south and Midwest than in SF or NYcity. The love, the heartache, the loneliness, self control, secrecy. I felt it all as it lived on thru the screen.
The human condition is projected quite forcibly in BBM.
Heath was a gifted. I applauded both young men for their fearless portrayal of "cowboy love".

A nights tale was an enertaining , 1 1/2 hours of a film...Brokeback Mountain was on the other end of the spectrum of movies. .Heath Ledger bravely chose to act in this incredible movie and did so flawlessly. He was that character. I'm a straight man who can recognize a gifted actor. ..he will be missed and the sad fact is that we lost him too soon. .RIP
