The metric system is so much simpler.

I assumed a US writer, because there are 32 fluid ounces in a US quart, but 40 ounces in other countries and 5 was not an option. As a point of interest standard teacups hold 6 fluid ounces, but 'breakfast' cups hold 8 oz.

These measures are uniquely US ones. The term "cup" does not have a defined volume elsewhere, and the term "quart" used in imperial measurement is different from the US quart. Makes it rather difficult for those in other parts of the world, just as me asking you "how many mickles make a muckle?" would be unfair.
