How many moons does Mars have?
Our solar system has 8 planets and some of them have their own moons.
Mars has two satellites, Phobos and Deimos. As there is no evidence of their origin, the are considered to be captured asteroids.
The moons were discovered in 1877 by Asaph Hall. They were named after Phobos, who personified fear, and Deimos, who personified terror. In Greek mythology they followed their father Ares, the god of war, to battle.

Reading Science fiction in my teen years helped for the right answer. In Ancient Greek “Phobos” means fear, and “Deimos” means terror.
