Brown was on top of the football world. His combination of speed and sheer power made him one of the most feared players of his era. In nine seasons with the Browns, he gained a record 12,312 yards rushing, a mark that lasted until Walter Payton surpassed it in 1984. Brown led the league in rushing eight of the nine seasons he played, was voted to the Pro Bowl each year, named All-NFL eight times, and tabbed the league’s Most Valuable Player twice.

Knew this one. He played from 1957-65. Was also a supreme lacrosse player.

H S Hotchkiss, Art Model , the Browns owner (& one of the most disliked men in Cleveland!) fined Brown $1,000 fine for each day he was not in training camp. Brown decided to retire in 1966 rather pay a fine for not being in training camp. Due to his movie commitments, that caused him to be late for training camp.

Jim Brown did what he did without steroids. If he had played another 3 or 4 years no one who have ever broken his record. It was easy for Walter to break Jim Brown's records when he was full of steroids and played 3 seasons longer. Yes I said it Walter Payton was a steroid junky. That's what caused his rare liver disorder came from.
