How many sister ships did Titanic have?

The Titanic was the second of three large liners intended to work the Southampton-New York "shuttle" service. The sister ships were planned to be near identical. The Olympic and Titanic have been built. The HMHS (His Majesty's Hospital Ship) Britannic was the third "wonder ship" to be built. Originally, the ship was to be named "Gigantic," but due to the loss of the Titanic, her name was changed to Britannic. The White Star Line knew if they were to keep ahead in the race across the Atlantic the new liner would have to be more magnificent than her older sisters.

Dennis, sorry but you are incorrect. The Lusitania was a Cunard Shipping Lines ship, not White Star. Google it...

I just came back from the Titanic museum in Ireland. Sorry to say that it was a disappointment; however, a visit to Ireland is a must. This country is lovely and extra clean.

I suggest if people are interested in marine history, they can research the Britannic it is located in Greek waters at a depth of 130 meters. There are several videos of the wreck being explored by divers available.

Rumour around Titanic was insured Olympic was not and had been badly damaged and was slowly sinking how much truth is in the rumour will never be known it's over 100 years ago now so no witnesses alive today and some of the artifacs recovered had Olympic white star logo
