Lana Turner (1921 – 1995) was called a person and movie actress who found it necessary to habitually marry men. She was married eight times to seven different husbands. They included: bandleader Artie Shaw (1940), actor Joseph Stephen "Steve" Crane (1942–1943, 1943–1944), millionaire socialite Henry J. "Bob" Topping Jr. (1948–1952), actor Lex Barker (1953–1957), rancher Frederick "Fred" May (1960–1962), film producer Robert P. Eaton (1965–1969), and Nightclub hypnotist Ronald Pellar, also known as Ronald Dante or Dr. Dante (1969–1972).

During press interviews and later in her 1982 autobiography, Turner stated, "My goal was to have one husband and seven children, but for me it turned out to be the other way around." It was well known in Hollywood and within the entire movie industry that Turner was famous for dating often, for changing partners often, and for never shying away from the topic of how many lovers she'd had in her lifetime. However, she claimed that for her "all in all sex was not important". She was more into it for the pure joy of the romance!

She died at the age of 74 in June 1995 of cancer at her home in Century City, Los Angeles, California.
