Four Presidents of the U.S. were assassinated.

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President - he was shot on Good Friday, on the 14th of April, 1865, while attending the play Our American Cousin at Ford's Theatre as the American Civil War was drawing to a close. He was the first U.S. President to be assassinated.

James Garfield, the 20th President - he was assassinated at 9:30 am on the 2nd of July, 1881, less than four months into his term. Garfield was shot by Charles J. Guiteau and died 11 weeks later, on the 19th of September, 1881.

William McKinley, the 25th President - he was shot and fatally wounded on the 6th of September, 1901, inside the Temple of Music on the grounds of the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York.

John F. Kennedy, the 35th President - the assassination took place on Friday, the 22th of November, 1963, in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was fatally shot by Lee Harvey Oswald.
