The Nilgiri tahr is a stocky goat with short, coarse fur and a bristly mane. Males are larger than females and of darker color when mature. Both sexes have curved horns, reaching up to 40 centimetres (16 in) for males and 30 centimetres (12 in) for females. Adult males weigh 80 to 100 kilograms (180 to 220 lb) and stand about 100 centimetres (39 in) tall at the shoulder. Adult males develop a light grey area on their backs and are thus called "saddlebacks"

I detest the creatures who hunt these beautiful animals for sport! These so called "big game hunters travel the glove killing animals for fun and to have a trophy on their wall! It's just like the poachers of elephants and rhinos, etc. Originally, man killed animals for sustenance but in MANY parts of the world today, these"hunters" go in and kill these beautiful animals because they can, not for eating but for bragging rights! Even endangered species are fair game to these people (I hate to even call them people)! I've seen MANY pictures of these hunters posing while holding the elephant's tail, which is what they do after slaughtering an elephant for their tusks, often leaving babies with no Mother! I could go on ALL day about how much I detest these people!

teacherchicky, I completely agree. And legal hunting under the so-called label of "conservation" or "canned kills" gets to me as much as poaching does. Imagine paying loads of money to go and kill a lion that was born in captivity and is put into a fenced paddock where there is absolutely no chance of escaping the "hunter's" rifle or arrow.
