Oddjob was the name given to a henchman of the Bond villain Auric Goldfinger. Although the character was Korean (in both the 1959 novel and the 1964 film), in the film he was portrayed by Harold Sakata, born Toshiyuki Sakata in Hawaii, an American of Japanese descent. Sakata was an Olympic weightlifter and professional wrestler who also turned to acting.

Oddjob's real name is not revealed in the novel or in the film. His presence in the film is dominant, as a result of his appearance and behaviour. Who could forget him crushing a golf ball with one hand in the genteel surroundings of an English golf club? Who could fail to be impressed with Oddjob's "hat trick" -- using his smart formal headgear as a deadly throwing weapon? Oddjob hardly says anything -- but he does not need to!
