"Presumed Innocent" is a 1990 American legal thriller film based on the 1987 novel of the same name by Scott Turow.

Directed by Alan J. Pakula, and written by Pakula and Frank Pierson, it stars Harrison Ford (Rusty Sabich), Brian Dennehy (Raymond Horgan), Raúl Juliá (Sandy Stern), Bonnie Bedelia (Barbara Sabich), Paul Winfield (Judge Larren Lyttle) and Greta Scacchi (Carolyn Polhemus).

When a female D.A.(district attorney) is killed (Carolyn Polhemus), the D.A.(Raymond Horgan) assigns his assistant (Rozat "Rusty" Sabich) to handle the investigation. Only problem is that he was having an affair with her. The evidence reveals that he is the killer. So, he suspects that the man who wants his boss' job is trying to frame him. He turns to Sandy Stern a highly celebrated defense attorney to represent him.

The film grossed $221 million worldwide and became the eighth-highest-grossing film of 1990. The film was followed by a television miniseries, "The Burden of Proof", in 1992, and a television film sequel, "Innocent", in 2011.
