"Mary Poppins Returns" is a 2018 American musical fantasy film directed by Rob Marshall, with a screenplay written by David Magee and a story by Magee, Marshall, and John DeLuca. Loosely based on the book series Mary Poppins by P. L. Travers, the film is a sequel to the 1964 film Mary Poppins, and stars Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins.

Angela Lansbury plays the part of the 'Balloon Lady', a kindly old woman who sells balloons at the park. The part was written to be a cameo role for Julie Andrews who portrayed Mary Poppins in the original film, but she turned the role down as she felt her presence would unfairly take attention away from Emily Blunt.

Dame Angela Brigid Lansbury (born 16 October 1925) is an Irish-British-American actress and singer who has played many film, theater, and television roles. Her career has spanned almost eight decades, much of it in the United States. Her work has received much international attention and she is recognised as the earliest surviving Academy Award nominee and one of the last surviving stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema.
